An integrated rack portfolio
Supermicro announced an expanded portfolio of Open Compute Project Accepted systems, racks and rear-door heat exchangers on October 13, 2026. The company presents the offering within its Data Center Building Block Solutions approach, combining compute infrastructure with power, cooling and management.
According to Supermicro, its ORv3 and ORW racks use a centralized 48 V DC busbar in place of individual server power supplies and cables. The rear-door heat-exchanger portfolio spans 10–120 kW of cooling capacity, with AC and DC options. The update also lists a 4U in-rack coolant distribution unit rated for up to 250 kW, supporting 45°C warm-water cooling.
Supermicro says its OCP solutions are available. That portfolio-level statement does not specify delivery timing for a particular customer configuration.
LANGOM perspective
A procurement exercise for this type of rack should begin with a shared electrical and thermal design brief. Define the planned equipment population, normal and peak loads, redundancy requirements and the capacity available from the building. Keep server power, distribution losses and cooling equipment within the same review so that different suppliers do not size their portions against incompatible assumptions.
Ask for the heat-removal calculation at the proposed operating conditions. A catalogue capacity should be connected to specified water temperatures, flow requirements and the residual heat entering the room. Confirm the responsibilities for pumps, water treatment, leak response and maintenance before accepting an integrated proposal.
Service planning deserves the same attention as installation. Check access for component replacement, isolation procedures and the response to a cooling or power fault. Request an exact bill of materials and support responsibilities across the complete rack. These are LANGOM’s project-planning considerations; the announcement does not establish the efficiency or retrofit requirements of an individual site.
